This initiative group examines past and present conflict situations that differ as a result of their political and socio-economic contexts: conflicts in Ivory Coast, Casamance, northern Mali, around the Mano River and in the vicinity of the Great Lakes. The goal is to mobilise, in the framework of a study, reflection and experience-sharing group, actors who have been directly or indirectly involved in conflicts, to invite them to analyse and lend meaning to their experiences so that proposals can be designed to provide input and tools for organisations that work to prevent, manage and resolve crises in Africa. The reflection and proposal process will lead them to think about their practices, pool experiences and think about alternatives for conflict prevention and management. Another goal will be to analyse the role of the various actors in conflicts and draw conclusions for pertinent proposals to make to African institutions and the international community.
